What is a Virtual Doula?

I don't have the tech to attend your birth as a functional hologram. Yet. However I can provide the next best thing. The most important elements of a successful birth is education and planning. For families outside of my physical support range of one hour's distance from my home, I provide detailed birth education, strategic planning, and continuous birth support via the interwebs.

Virtual Doula services include:

Four to five Skype sessions:

​

1. Getting to know you - meeting each other for the first time, "facetime to facetime", with mother and partner or main birth support. We will set goals for the following sessions

​

2. Birth 101 - stages of labor and what to expect on this unique ride you're embarking on.

​

3. Birth planning and strategy - creating a birth plan, mapping out the est way to achieve your birth goals in your desired setting.

​

4. Positioning and physical support techniques - Your in person birth support and you explore and practice active birth positions and effective pain management techniques. 

​

5. Eye in the Sky...pe - Dial me in at any point during your labor for encouragement and cheat-sheet  suggestions for positioning, relaxation and medical translation, keeping your birth goals in sight.
